PLN Reflection

I learned a lot from creating a professional learning network (PLN), in our case, a Twitter account. There are several advantages in having a PLN and one specific that I took away from this experience was finding round-the-clock inspiration. I found myself scrolling through my Twitter feed late at night when nothing else was really happening and finding teacher inspiration. Its an outlet that is always up to date and can be accessed whenever it best fits your busy schedule.

Another reason I loved creating my PLN was being able to follow amazing educators and their blogs. I had such quick access to great organizations like AMLE, AIMS, Learning for Justice (Queer America), and other inspiring educators. I could just scroll through their feed and find so much useful/helpful articles and information.

Making international connections is another reason I really loved this challenge. Although I didn't go as far as international, I felt a lot more connected to my classmates and loved getting their support on my tweets and I also liked showing them my support. As time goes on and I grow my PLN, I would really like to expand and create international connections that could not be created if it weren't for a simple Twitter chat.

I really enjoyed this experience. I felt like it was a great way to connect with others using popular resources in todays culture. It is unfortunate that it does take time to really create a strong network but if I were to keep this up I think it can only get bigger and better.
